Nutrition Counseling

Nutritional Science is the study of the biochemical and physiological process by which an organism uses food to support its life. Nutrition includes ingestion, absorption, assimilation, biosynthesis, catabolism and excretion of nutrients. Nutritional counseling is the prescription of a personalized eating plan that promotes health and minimizes risk and/or symptoms of disease. Nutrition is a complex and ever-changing field of medicine and often requires a trained professional to understand its nuances and associations with health and disease.  Registered Dietitians (RDs) are the food and nutrition experts who can translate the science of nutrition into practical solutions for healthy living.

Dr. Brock is thoroughly experienced with creating nutrition care plans for patients with: Crohn’s, colitis, IBS/IBD, celiac disease, GERD, gas and bloating, dysbiosis, obesity, auto-immune conditions, diabetes mellitus, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, renal failure, migraines, infertility and all types of eating disorders.  Dr. Brock works with pediatric and adolescent patients with failure to thrive, “picky” eating, weight management and eating disorders.
