What comes to mind when you think of skin and vitality? You probably picture vibrant, bright, hydrated looking skin. The natural ‘glow’ we all look for. This can be achieved with finding the correct products and treatments for your skin type and condition, while managing certain lifestyle factors. But where do you start?
Meeting with a licensed esthetician who specializes in skincare is a great first step. A consultation can give you the tools to correctly choose home care products and a routine to help you reach your skin’s most vibrant state, and decide on a treatment plan to achieve your best skin. Before your consultation, you will fill out the forms on the booking website where you will answer questions about your skin goals, your current home care, and other aesthetic and medical history information. When you come into your consultation appointment, we will discuss this along with information about our treatments, the home care products we carry, and will discuss any questions you have about skin.
Another portion of the consultation touches on the holistic aspect of skincare. There are many lifestyle factors that play a role in the health of your skin including: diet, exercise, stress, sleep, sun protection, medications and medical history, all which impact the condition of your skin. An esthetician considers these factors, along with your age and your Fitzpatrick type when recommending products and treatments. Everyone’s skin is unique, and therefore a licensed expert can help you determine what will work best on your skin without the trial and errors of using the wrong products and treatments. It is also a valuable appointment to take inventory of lifestyle factors that affect skin, because ultimately, improving your health on the inside ultimately shows up on the outside. At Acacia, we work integratively with the body as a whole, treating and managing you internally, while also focusing on skin from the outside to restore and reclaim your skin’s vitality.
Skin is dynamic and may require a multifactorial approach between lifestyle factors, home care, and an in office treatment plan. Scheduling your consultation at Acacia is a great first step to take inventory of where your skin is at, and building a plan to achieve the glow we all strive for with vital, healthy skin.
